Listen to LibriVox audiobooks
LibriVox volunteers record books that are in the public domain and give the recordings away. Nightjar turns a LibriVox download into one audiobook with chapters, for free.
From a link, in one step
On a book’s LibriVox page, copy the link to the ZIP file of the whole book and paste it into Nightjar. The archive is downloaded and unpacked on the phone, and its MP3 files become one book, one chapter per file.
Or from a computer
Download the ZIP on a computer and send it to the phone over Wi-Fi, or open it with Nightjar from the Files app on iPhone or your file manager on Android. Some LibriVox books also come as a single M4B file, which plays with its chapters.
Built for long listens
Chapters and bookmarks, playback speed, a sleep timer that can stop at the end of the chapter, and a remembered position in every book — with lock-screen and headphone controls.
Free
Importing from a link, from files or over Wi-Fi, and playing the books on the phone, are free — no account and no subscription needed.
LibriVox is a volunteer project; its recordings are in the public domain in the USA. Nightjar is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by LibriVox.
